Ammo Chief’s on the Mend: Rich Pennington and Steve Auchey

Two of our ACA brothers have had heart attacks in the last week, Rich Pennington and Steve Auchey. Both are now home and doing well. The ACA wish them all the best!

Rich, asked that I get the following message out: Please get the word out that I’m feeling pretty darn good and if the wife would let me out of the house I would be doing better (in my opinion).  She keeps telling me what the doctor said. Please let everyone know I appreciated their prayers and kind words and hope to see everybody in my travels in the near future.

The following is from Steve: On Sunday morning, June 7th, I had a heart attack.  I was rushed to the hospital with severe chest pains, both forearms ached and I was sweating profusely.  The doctor told me that I had 100% blockage.  Apparently, plaque broke free and caused a blood clot.  A stent was put in. I am home from the hospital and feel as good as can be expected.

Addresses for Cards: Steve Auchey; 157 Juniper Court, Dillsburg, PA 17019; Rich Pennington; 101 Stone Lake Court, Yorktown, VA 23693. E:mails to- Aucheys@cox.net or  rpennington7@cox.net

In Memorium, MSgt (ret’d) Rich Fettis

The Ammo family recently lost one of it’s own. Retired MSgt Richard E. Fettis (Festus), passed away on April 9th after complications from surgery.  MSgt Fettis served 22 years in the Air Force as an Ammo Troop including South East Asia during the Vietnam War.  Most of his career was spent in PACAF, with two assignments to Kadena AB, Okinawa as well as Luke AFB, AZ and Cannon AFB, NM where he retired in 1991. After the Air Force MSgt Fettis and his family settled in Phoenix, AZ.  Rich is survived by his Wife, Sandy and their four children.  Rich loved the Air Force and being an Ammo Troop, he never tired of talking about his Ammo career with younger airman he ran into.  Condolences may be sent to the family in care of Rev. Erin Wathen. erin@azfoothillscc.org.  Funeral services were held 24 April 2009.
