The Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt) Richard A. Gauvin Memorial Scholarship was established to award scholarships to eligible dependents of munitions personnel who held AFSC 461XX, 465XX or 2W0X1 on active, reserve, or ANG duty in the service of the USAF.

The CMSgt RICHARD A. GAUVIN SCHOLARSHIP is under new management in 2025:

The AMMO Chiefs Association (ACA) Board of Directors is now managing and administering the Gauvin Scholarship.  AFCOMAC and MAJCOM AMMO Chiefs (previous Board of Advisors) are no longer involved.

The ACA Board of Directors (BOD) are the Scholarship Selection Committee and will review, score, select, and prioritize all scholarship applications.  As such, the ACA BOD will determine how and which applications receive Scholarship awards and how much funds will be awarded / allocated to each scholarship application.

All scholarship applications must be submitted to ACA BOD prior to midnight on 31 May of each year following the guidelines and information for eligibility, requirements, application form, and administration in the document at the below URL link:

DONATING TO THE CHIEF GAUVIN SCHOLARSHIP FUND:

The Gauvin Scholarship Fund is 100-percent reliant on donations to support dependents of the the AMMO community as was originally intended. Historically, 65-percent of all scholarship donations were received from AFCOMAC classes and 35-percent were received from funds collected at MAJCOM conferences or from private donations.

For the Gauvin Scholarship to remain active and viable Active, Guard, Reserve, and Retired AMMO Troops worldwide; and private donors must continue to donate funds to the scholarship fund. It requires AMMO leaders from all the above groups to post information and make information available on ways and methods to donate. Anything short of that can only result in the Scholarship either ending or scholarships awards will be significantly reduced.

To assist with fund raising to support this AMMO scholarship program, the ACA can receive donations via PayPal, Venmo, or by mail in check. Individuals may donate via a monthly subscription or a one-time donation. See below for more details.

Note: ACA is an IRS 501(c)(19) Tax Exempt Veterans Organization where donors may be able to deduct donations and contributions. The ACA EIN is: 59-3738339.
